Grand Art Hotel / 2023 - 2024

The Grand Art Hotel project engaged homeless individuals in a creative journey through visual arts, focusing on painting, drawing, and textile work. The project began with a foundational workshop on color mixing and fabric texture, introducing participants to essential materials like charcoal, watercolor, and fabrics. They were encouraged to explore these media freely, creating landscapes inspired by significant places from their pasts. In the second phase, participants experimented with combining visual and textile arts, creating functional pieces such as decorated blankets, cushions, and bags. This collaboration allowed them to express personal narratives and share their stories through visual and textile means. Some artworks were envisioned as potential donations or sales to support the project. The project aspired to evolve towards larger, community-based installations, fostering awareness around homelessness in Vicenza. Although aims for exhibitions, sustainable production, and potential job opportunities were set for future phases, the initial activities already provided a meaningful platform for creative expression, personal growth, and connection within the community.
