A mural for the community oven of Meggiara
In April 2025, I was invited to take part in The School of Filò, a research and artistic program exploring the social and architectural landscape of the Valle dell’Agno, in Northern Italy. Together with architecture students from the Architectural Association (London) and residents of the Meggiara hamlet, we created a large-scale collective mural on the outer wall of the community oven, a space that still plays a central role in the life of the local community. Using earth pigments collected from the surrounding hills and natural binders, the mural celebrates the tradition of bread-making as a shared, ancestral practice, and reimagines the oven as a civic and symbolic infrastructure.
